A special dish!
I like to serve this dish for romantic dinners or special occasions such as anniversaries.

- Preparation:
- 15 minutes
- Cooking:
- 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked fettucine
- 100g smoked salmon
- 1 Tbs butter or margarine

- 1 cup skim milk
- 1-2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 Tbs chopped fresh dill
Method
- Cut the smoked salmon into small squares.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over a low heat.
- Remove saucepan from heat and add the flour.
- Mix and then cook for about a minute over a low heat.
- Add milk a little at a time, continually stirring to prevent lumps.
- Continue stirring until sauce boils and thickens.
- Add smoked salmon and dill.
- Add garlic to taste.
- Add fettucine and stir through until heated.
Serve on its own or with a green salad.
Notes
- You can use any plain pasta with this recipe. Try penne or macaroni.
- For a creamier sauce use full cream milk or light evaporated milk.
- Instead of smoked salmon and dill, try bacon, mushroom and onions.
For a vegetarian version:
- Use soy milk instead of skim milk
- Instead of smoked salmon and dill, use sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, capsicum and pine nuts.
