About This Blog

My original Deb's Kitchen Web site was developed as a project for the Virtual University courses “Web Design For Beginners” and “JavaScript For Beginners”. Due to changes in our hosting plans I transferred the site to Blogger so that I now have a central place to store the recipes referred to in Debbie's and Tony's News and my yoga-inspired site, A Learner Yogi.

Why a recipe site?

I enjoy cooking and I love to share my recipes. From Deb's Kitchen lets me share recipes with my friends all over the world and makes them easy to print. No more handwriting or photocopying!

About the recipes

The recipes on this site reflect Hubby's and my lifestyle and tastes. The dishes are mainly Italian, Mexican and Asian —our favourite cuisines—and most are quick to prepare because we don't have much time to cook. More recently I've been adapting recipes to reduce the sodium and fat content. There are a couple of special dishes for leisurely weekend brunches, for dinners, and for entertaining friends.

Warning: My family was taught to cook by taste, so the ingredient quantities in many of the recipes are approximate only. Just experiment and create a dish that's right for you!

Measurements

All recipes use metric cup and spoon sizes. See “Weights & Measurements” at taste.com.au for a description of the Australian measurements.
